TEMPLE OF DREAD
God Of The Godless

TEMPLE OF DREAD have a celebrity in their midst, they have SLAUGHTERDAY’s Jens Finger, the German version of CROWBAR’s Kirk Windstein, playing for them, doing what Kirk does best, providing kick-ass vocals to relentless music. TEMPLE OF DREAD are your traditional Death Metal band from Germany, sticking to the core principles of German Death Metal, mainly, quality, execution and staying in the lane. Leaning onto the Death / Thrash approach on a few tracks, TEMPLE OF DREAD opens with ‘Carnage Ritual’, which immediately takes me back to ‘Zombie Ritual’. It honestly sounded like that to me except for the fact that TEMPLE OF DREAD infused the track with an excellent modern attack. You’ve got to give it to the German bands, they’re almost always consistent, no matter what music they play. I particularly love the Death Metal bands (MORGOTH is a huge personal favourite of mine) and “God Of The Godless” on Testimony Records by TEMPLE OF DREAD is an excellent example. Machine gun drums, piercing vocals and brilliant guitars that don’t betray the traditional blue prints, but also embrace the modernity to ensure they sound complete. I suppose that is the best part of the band and this album, it’s catchy, heavy and ready to pounce on you. I like what I hear and I hope you give TEMPLE OF DREAD’s “God Of The Godless” a listen, they certainly deserve your time and money.
