Death March

The bringers of filth and all things grim and foul are back with a new album, titled "Death March". COPROLITH, these Finnish blackened Death Metallers, have reached that point in their career when it was time to break a long silence recording wise. COPROLITH released their pretty well received debut album "Cold Grief Relief" in 2010 – and 2 years later from that, they put out a 3-track EP titled "Hate Infected", both released on the Finnish label Violent Journey Records. "Death March" brings these blackened Finnish Death Metal heroes to the dark light with some familiar elements that we have already used to hear from them on their previous releases but only this time COPROLITH seem to be more ready for war, so to speak. I mean, the band’s weaponry has increased quite drastically since the days of "Cold Grief Relief" and "Hate Infected". It’s gotten more diverse sounding in many ways, reminding me of the Polish blackened Death Metal kings BEHEMOTH here and there from far distance, which is always good in my books. Saying they would sound like ABHORRENCE or RIPPIKOULU on "Death March", would lead all of us quite far away from the actual truth. COPROLITH have clearly found more depth and variety in their song structures, compared strictly to their previous releases. On every possible musical field that can just be taken, the COPROLITH camp has taken some important steps forward as far as the execution and the maturity of their songs are concerned. Everything sounds a bit more interesting this time, and obviously COPROLITH haven’t seen much point at aping some existing musical formulas, like for the sake of getting more acceptance for themselves in some certain extreme Metal circles, or anything like that. Also, with some guest musician help coming from Mathias Lillmåns of FINNTROLL, Tor Stavenes of 1349 and PANTHEON I, Einar Thorberg Gudmundsson of FORTÍÐ and DEN SAAKALDTE and 3 members from CURSED 13 and GRÁ, it’s sufficient to say there’s truly some nice excitement wrapped around this opus. "Death March" caught me – and your turn will come next for sure. COPROLITH’s nest of death, is here: www.coprolith.com, label: www.violentjourneyrecords.com
