2 years ago, I got to hear this Finnish blackened Death Metal band COPROLITH for the very first time, getting a chance to hear the band’s 1st full-length studio album, titled "Cold Grief Relief". I was saying about that record – with the following exact words "COPROLITH take things back to the roots – partly sort of paying their own tribute to early Finnish gods of Death Metal, ABHORRENCE and RIPPIKOULU musically, while at the same time, adding slices of Black Metal into their poisonous, coal-black soup of twisted sounds". Yes, I could even subscribe those aforementioned sentences with the band’s brand-new 3-song EP titled "Hate Infected" but only partly because within a course of time it’s understandable also technical playing skills overall do get improved, kind of like enticing musicians to try out their limits instrumentally. That has naturally happened with the COPROLITH camp as well. "Hate Infected" is a far more advanced and teeny-weeny more polished sounding effort from COPROLITH’s blackened Death Metal hordes than what their debut album represented. A blend of both sheer heaviness and brutality of Death Metal and vicious and ultra-aggressive Black Metal – accompanied with a fair load of melodies and some typical northern melancholy, are those elements that – all in one tight package, make this EP such a strong listen. The EP also makes a somewhat geat promise about the band’s forthcoming follow-up record (to be released in the fall of 2012), letting basically each of us know what to expect from them already.
