NETHERBIRD
The Ghost Collector
(Pulverised Records)
62:43min

Last week I’ve closed a review with the following words “nobody in this world needs the 787th copy of a true Black Metal album…” without the knowledge of the forthcoming doom in form of the debut from this Swedish band. NETHERBIRD also have a logo created by Christophe Szpajdel (yes the EMPEROR logo creator) and they are playing symphonic Black Metal in the most common way, meaning they are representing the 7787th CRADLE OF FILTH clone without any substantial new ideas / impulses. Some choirs, some Dani vocals, some spoken passages, some bombast parts and some female voices and ready is the perfect Black Metal cake anno 2008. What a soulless release and why the hell did Pulverised Records support this band (maybe a big My Space fanbase is one reason)? This release is a waste of resources so please keep away from “The Ghost Collector”. www.netherbird.com, www.pulverised.net
