RIBSPREADER
The Monolith
(Blood Harvest Records )
10:26min

It seems that RIBSPREADER discovered the charm of vinyl and especially this tiny form of vinyl for them as this is actually the 2nd seven inch which they released in a short period of time. Unfortunately I haven’t heard the “Vicar Mortis” 7″ EP yet so I can’t compare these two releases with each other, but as I know their “Congregating The Sick” and “Bolted To The Cross” CDs I can tell all the guys who know these recordings that RIBSPREADER are still playing fuckin’ pure Swedish Death Metal they way it was meant to be. The only negative point here could be that RIBSPREADER play typical Swedish Death Metal with no real own identity, but honestly I don’t give a fuck about it as this kind of Death Metal is played with a lot of passion and you easily discover that they love playing this brand of Death Metal without trying to be original at all. This here is nothing new, but it feels damned great to listen to and in my eyes an old school way of releasing music (=> 7″EP) requests an old school sound. This medium is just perfect for RIBSPREADER’s music. You’ll find 3 songs on this vinyl, ‘The Monolith’ and ‘Trapped In Unhuman Flesh’ are the more faster ones (well, actually midtempo…) in the more or less above mentioned common Swedish style, but the amazing ‘Domes Of The Ancients’ just kicks fuckin’ ass with its doomy riffs and slow drumming. A great song which is hard to beat. I’m really looking forward what RIBSPREADER will offer us next. My advice to you is to take the opportunity to get in touch with Blood Harvest directly to order this amazing piece of vinyl as long as it is available. Buy it here: www.bloodharvest.se!
