Japan’s traditional Heavy / Black / Thrash Metal maniacs are around for 20 years now and are still true and untrendy to the core! On their eighth(!!!) studio album they again celebrate their interpretation of furious old school Metal involving NWOBHM-styled melodies and demonic atmosphere. All ten tracks are full of ravaging riffs and pure energy. SABBAT prove that classical Metal songwriting still can bring about much more power than many other bands of today are trying to do by megabrutal blastbeat attacks and sheer brutality. If this album would have been released about 15 years ago, it would be a classic for all worshippers of true Heavy Metal, be it Black, Thrash or whatever, but nowadays that many bands and fans prefer musical extremity before quality songwriting, SABBAT might not get the attention they deserve. All what’s left to say is: check out this diamond from the Japanese Metal underground and find out that SABBAT are pure 80s Metal in the best positive meaning!
