Anyone else out there disappointed with the last Nifelheim CD? I was. Seems their Iron Maiden influences got the best of ’em and the melodies came out too nice and jolly and pretty… that is NOT the case with fucking Terrorama! We start off with a good intro (though I am definitely not a fan of intros) and boom, the band starts the song with a fake ending reminiscent of ‘Hit The Lights’ or ‘Afterworld Obliteration’ and then the album starts with a bang (that’s right a boom and a bang!). Just relentless violent Death / Thrash Metal with melodies yes, but wicked! I like those old boys in Nifelheim used to do back in the old days, remember? They alternate well with the speeds mostly keeping it fast ‘n loose throwing in wicked licks from hell here and there. Man, this is just quality through and through. The recording is clean and classy, the instruments are crystal clear, kudos on the production, you can tell these evil guys are good musicians but still, there is a rawness undeniable. And abruptly, violently, it ends. This is truly an album for any fan of real Thrash Metal! The really violent deathly kind. Not that happy go lucky, party, yay! we-are-doing everything-that-killed Thrash Metal. This is ferocious and intense, sometimes reminding me of Sadus’ classic “Illusions / Chemical Exposure” in its relentlesness.
