UNDER THE CHURCH
Total Burial
(Pulverised Records)

UNDER THE CHURCH have returned with a new EP, “Total Burial”, again via their longtime label Pulverised Records. The opener ‘Day Of Reckoning’ is a total wrecking ball and starts straight into the face. Of course the foundation is still HM-2 Death Metal, but they incorporated far more Thrash Metal into this track and together with the fantastic production, brilliant vocals (between screams and grunts) and the sharp riffing, UNDER THE CHURCH once again deliver the proof, that some brilliant veterans are working their asses off here. ‘Spit On Your Grave’ returns to their classic sound and is finest old school Death Metal with the typical guitar tunes, drumming and melody lines, but I tell you what, this still sounds cool and will still kick ass in twenty years. ‘Total Burial’ is another classic old school tune and could easily have fitted onto one of the GRAVE albums. ‘Depraved Vocation’ is a bit rawer and more dirty with some Crust and Punk influences, but very groovy and a bit faster then the tracks before and with a hellish solo in the middle and some Death’n’Roll vibes. Often the best comes last and the guys close this enjoyable EP with ‘Just Another Death’, an uptempo old school Death Metal track with all classic trademarks and some cool Heavy Metal tunes in the middle. Once again the guys brought us a worth to check release and never disappointed so far, so all old school lunatics should get this EP and check these killer tunes.
