DEGIAL
Death And Darkness Buries All...
(Blood Harvest Records)
12:11min

It took a long time that this band returned with a new output after their cool demo "Awakening From Darkness". "Death And Darkness Buries All…" comes in the highest professional form for a 7" EP. Presented with a new logo and a cover both done by more and more known Trident Arts (by Erik from WATAIN) and recorded with the help of Fred Estby DEGIAL are on top of the "Uppsala Metal Of Death" club. My impression is that the bands from this association are more active in creating new bands instead of creating additional releases for their already existing bands, therefore I was damn happy to hold this new and 2nd release of DEGIAL in my hands. 3 songs offered here in the ugliest raw Death Metal vein, somewhere between the Black Metal violence of bands as WATAIN and old school Death Metal of re-inventors REPUGNANT. Love lyrics are not missed here and catchy melodies aren’t found here either. This is brutal, raw and violent Death fuckin’ Metal. A song as ‘To Darkness’ for example has a certain POSSESSED- or old MORBID ANGEL-vibe in it without being in the typical POSSESSED / MORBID ANGEL vein. Hm, I even think this is a rather weird comparison, but listening to this tune a couple of times force me to write down this impression. In a way DEGIAL’s music sounds up to date for the current interest in the Death Metal scene, therefore and especially as the quality of this 7" EP, recording, layout and songs are top notch I can recommend this nice piece of vinyl to every dedicated fan of underground Death Metal. It’s raw, violent and brutal and I like it a lot. Check out www.bloodharvest.se.
