It gives me infinite pleasure to review this demo. Rarely have I ever received my money’s worth on a whim, and I was beginning to despair; thinking that every band whose demo I bought would invariably stink. GOREPHILIA came along and squashed that notion. This band is deadly serious. There’s nothing to ornament the songs, nothing that sounds like triggers, harmonic correcting – nothing. The only decoration on this demo is the artwork. The music should instantly bring Finland to mind – not because the band is Finnish (and they are) but because the music sounds like it couldn’t come from any other place on Earth. A dark, haunting presence saturates every classic Finnish Death Metal release. Thus, GOREPHILIA’s demo is a classic. Case closed. www.myspace.com/gorephilia
