As live albums go, this is a masterpiece. Normally, we gloss over live recordings unless they belong to a cult band who didn’t have much material to begin with. Only “Unleashed In The East”, by JUDAS PRIEST, sold as well as the studio recordings. It’s with good reason that live albums are often ignored: poor sound, sloppy playing, etc. Not so with HATE. These madmen play with nuance and grace – all the things many good studio bands wished they could be on the stage. If you didn’t know any better, you might think “The Litanies Of Satan” was itself a studio album. Yes. It’s that good-sounding. Unfortunately, HATE is as to a live album, as popular studio recordings are to VADER. Put simply, the band is overlooked, despite the fact that they’ve got more interesting material than their countrymen at the moment. Not to diminish VADER in the least, but you simply cannot compete with material this competent, and this well recorded on stage. Buy this and give HATE some recognition for once. www.myspace.com/hatepoland, www.hatesatanic.org.
