Well, the title of Singapur’s (in-)famous Black / Deathers IMPIETY’s newest effort gives a damn good impression of what one can expect of it musically. The eight new songs are nothing but pure chaotic and extremely brutal Black / Death that should appeal to fans of BLACK WITCHERY, ANGEL CORPSE and THORNSPAWN alike. No compromises, no fucking melodies, no pseudo-atmospheric shit. “Kaos Kommand 696” definitely will not revolutionize the extreme Metal genre, but is a good blasphemous sonic onslaught, that relentlessly blasts for almost 40 minutes. My personal favorites are the opener ‘Christfuckingchrist’, that includes some surprising stops, the ANGEL CORPSE-like ‘Atomic Wrath Of Azzazzel’ and the mighty titletrack, which is relatively slow compared to the seven other hellish offerings. The production executed by Berno Studios, Sweden (!) turned out quite good and clear for this genre, but could have been a bit more bassy and darker. But anyway, all maniacs who like blasting Black / Death should check out “Kaos Kommand 696”, I bet you won’t be disappointed!!! Be sure to get the digipak version or the limited LP (500 pieces with a different, better artwork than the CD, done by Desmond Sia), because both contain two bonustracks, a SEXTHRASH and a BLASPHEMY-cover.
