After the release of their seventh album “Where The Light Ends” in 2019, German Death Grind machine KEITZER now returned. Their new offering, “Pandemonium Humanitas”, surely took some time, and the nine new songs composed here meant to push their sound to a new limit. Their super thick and ravaging guitar riffs are there with pure angry energy. The dynamics are added with catchy Death Metal, mixed with elements from Black Metal, and the album title reflects the essence of this mixture of blackness with grinding brutality. And surely the musicianship across the nine tracks is top notch. The usual signature blast beats and hyper aggressive sections will satisfy any followers, yet these are expertly blended with passages of melancholic melody. This nuance and versatility prevent monotony and reflects of why it took five years in the making. From the beginning with ‘Our Funeral Pyre’, towards the progression of the album with ‘Scorned Messiah’, ‘Scavenger And Woe’, ‘…Of Eden’, ‘In Darkness You Feel No Regrets’ and ending with ‘Call Of The Void’ and ‘To Drown This World’, it’s clear that they’ve taken time to hone their craft into a razor-sharp instrument of anger and expression. Although the packed production thrived the whole atmosphere, it is still a little polished in comparison to the likes of the Death Grind sound. Still, with a creative album title, evocative cover artwork from Italian painter Paolo Girardi, and impressive composition strength, “Pandemonium Humanitas” is a musical outburst of anger par excellence and it has it all to please long-time KEITZER die hards, while gaining many new ones worldwide.
