INGURGITATING OBLIVION

No review of "Vision Wallows In Symphonies Of Light" here yet? Can’t have that. What a step forward! "Continuum Of Absence" sounds straight forward compared to "Vision…" which only consists of four tracks, yet there is a brilliant flow to this latest release which its predecessor didn’t have. Many things have changed. The old band is no more. Instead, composer and last remaining original member Florian has found some hellspawns in Berlin to contribute, last but not least Lille Gruber of DEFEATED SANITY. Therefore, those jazzy elements which have been around with INGURGITATING for 20 years can finally thrive. Those new guys deliver some fine dynamics in addition to letting all hell break lose. Consequently, what we find on here is not only technical Death Metal. From now on the term ‘progressive’ is not a waste of breath. Don’t get me wrong: INGURGITATING OBLIVION are still Death Metal but the addition of well integrated instruments (of which a piano is the only thing I can name) raises these epic compositions onto a whole new level. You can still blast INGURGITATING OBLIVION at top volume from your speakers but with this milestone you’ll want to use good headphones most of the time. It has been a year since its release but I’m still discovering new aspects each time I put on "Vision…". Poetry of the flesh indeed. If you’re interested, you can order a double vinyl from Willowtip and choose from different versions. I got the black and white merge. www.ingurgitating-oblivion.de, www.facebook.com/ingurgitatingoblivionofficial, www.willowtip.com
