NIFELHEIM
Devil's Force

So, after all the music made by this crazy Swedish band was interesting enough to have more! By now, I knew that the band was mainly composed by twin brothers, doing bass and vocals respectively, and they have some invited musicians here and there, and that they fired one of their first drummers because he did a poser thing by having a girlfriend! I remember they said in an interview that dirty sex is ok but love sucks! Now that’s my type of people (well at least back then, a few decades ago…). I know by that time that they were totally crazy about IRON MAIDEN and one can think that their music is so far away from that English band, but no, there is actually a lot of influence in the way they compose and the subtle melody they use, besides the heavy bass presence. Now for this album they used more musicians from DISSECTION, both Jon and John, and the same drummer again, named Demon. I must mention his terrific work on the bongos. A bit more thrashier than the debut album, still not that much different. I had the sense that it was even harder to find than the debut, but it has, by the grace of the dark beast, been re-released again by those Metal maniacs at Darkness Shall Rise Productions and again, I hate them because they will make you buy this little diabolical masterpiece again. The CD comes in a killer hardcover digibook, includes exclusive pictures and an interview with Tyrant and Hellbutcher highlighting the corresponding period of the band’s history in a 30-page booklet. Again, this is mandatory and yes, they still have that weird and fantastic bat logo and of corpse, killer cover art! No bonus tracks, no live recordings, you suck and NIFELHEIM does not! www.facebook.com/nifelheim.official, www.facebook.com/darknessshallriseproductions
