NIFELHEIM / SADISTIK EXEKUTION
Tribute To Slayer Magazine
(NWN! Productions)
12:24min

I really don’t know what took so long to do this review since this 7inch has been released for some time now and I have the suspicion that it’s already sold out. Bad timing I guess, but for the sake of this cult release let’s go to the juicy part: this split 7inch is supposed to be a sort of tribute to the legendary SLAYER zine. Actually it includes one brand new track from NIFELHEIM called ‘Gates Of Damnation’ plus two SADISTIK EXEKUTION tracks (‘Proxima Centauri’ and ‘Demon With Wings’) that have already been part of their "Demon With Wings" EP released back in 1996. The brand new track (with playing time of around 4 minutes) is really cool, in the typical NIFELHEIM style that will surely please fans of the band. As far as SADISTIK EXEKUTION is concerned, I admit that I never was a big fan of the band, although I respect their commitment and dedication in what they are doing. I guess their presence in this "tribute" release was more than necessary since they have been very closely affiliated with Metalion for ages. Still, the fact that they haven’t contributed with any new song reduces some "value-for-money" points from this release (while the cool gatefold cover on the other hand increases it again – Frank). But I guess die-hards already have it in their position and don’t give a damn about what I am talking about. Just for your information there has also been a die-hard version of the 7inch that includes a nice, red SLAYER-logo patch. www.nwnprod.com, www.nifelheim.co.nr, http://fade.to/sadx.
