NIFELHEIM
MCMXC - MMIII
(I Hate Records)

Whoever digs the Swedish unholy trinity of violent Black / Thrash / Heavy Metal should get this piece of vinyl as soon as possible!!! To celebrate the infernal existence of the Gothenburg warriors of Metal exclusive previously unreleased demo recordings and live tracks were unearthed and since they are of really good sound quality "MCMXC – MMIII" is not only a visual delicacy but also a "delight" for your ears. The A side of this clear vinyl contains remastered demo songs and rare cover versions of MOTÖRHEAD’s ‘Mean Machine’, BATHORY’s ‘Reaper’ and TREBLINKA’s ‘Earwigs In Your Veins’ recorded between 1992 and 1999. The B Side features some well sounding live tracks recorded in 2001 and among them a cool KOROZIA METALLA Cover (‘Spid’) can be discovered. Especially soundwise I was positively surprised since a lot of those "rarities" collections of so-called cult acts are often nothing but hard to endure noise infernos. Fortunately this is not the case with "MCMXC – MMIII" and in addition to the entertaining, hellish aggressive and poser-ripping-raw music you get a nice sleeve with a rather ugly cover, but numerous great photos of NIFELHEIM. This is a must have for fans and, to be honest, although I was never much of a NIFELHEIM worshipper I think I’m starting to like this band now, so people unfamiliar with the band might have fun with this release, too. The LP is limited to 1000 copies, costs 14 Euro / 18$ / 120 SEK and you can have a look at the cover and tracklist here: www.ihaterecords.cjb.net.
