With both hands I took the opportunity to review this fourth full-length by Swedish hope NOMINON. On "Monumentomb" NOMINON introduces new vocalist Henke Skoog who you might know from EVISCERATED and continues to step further away from their traditional Swedeath sound that already marked their EP "Omen". Not only because of the ‘lighter’ production but also the songwriting reminded me more of AT THE GATES, UNLEASHED and CENTINEX than for instance VOMITORY. This is their most matured material yet and definitely their most variating release! It’s shifting from Thrash Metal (‘Worship’, ‘Mountains Of Hate’) to Death Metal (‘Archfiend’, ‘Wrath Of Shiva’) to Metal (‘Undead Beast’). Still tight as hell and technically supreme with the fingerlicking drumming skills of Perra Karlsson. Only let down are the at times weak vocals. Some will mourn, some will hail… Check out www.myspace.com/nominon, www.nominon.com, www.deathgasm.com to find out what it shall be in your case. At least it’s something of the caliber of EVOCATION! Personally I Worship The Wrath Of Shiva.
