NOMINON may have flexed their muscle only within the last few years, but their dark story began long ago in 1993. Since they began releasing material, the band hasn’t wavered in their song-writing. In fact, there’s little to dislike about them all around. What makes them somewhat suspect from time to time is their choice in sound. NOMINON’s signature sound is somewhere inbetween the Sunlight buzzsaw and HYPOCRISY’s original Swedish-American hybrid. Their second and third albums, "Recremation" and "Terra Necrosis", expressed that sound beautifully. Three years have passed since "Terra Necrosis", however. Apart from one EP, NOMINON was unusually silent. The time off hasn’t diminished their playing skills – that much is self-evident. But, like I said, it’s the weakness of the sounds, however well-written, that waters this otherwise ferocious EP down some. But don’t despiar; NOMINON is still NOMINON.
