Eighties Punk Metal power trio WARFARE have their early albums reissued. The band’s first four albums – “Pure Filth”, “Metal Anarchy”, “Mayhen Fuckin’ Mayhem” and “A Conflict Of Hatred” – are now reissued on CD by Dissonance Records. This pioneer act of the early eighties had many special associations during their album productions. Their 1984 debut album (“Pure Filth”) was produced by TANK’s mainman Algy Ward, the follow-up (“Metal Anarchy”) by Lemmy from MOTÖRHEAD and album number three (“Mayhem Fuckin’ Mayhem”) by VENOM’s Cronos. The band had most of the leanings of a Speed / Thrash Metal band, with the blood fueled energy appropriate to the style. ”Mayhem, Fuckin’ Mayhem” which was initially released on 1986 by Neat Records, was the third full length album by combustion force WARFARE. Formed by Paul “Evo” Evans, the earlier intention was to create a mix of Metal and Punk, a sound which WARFARE achieved very successfully and keep inspiring many acts over the generations. Musically the band combined the raw energy of VENOM with some lethal progressions of TANK and turbocharged MOTÖRHEAD elements and spiced it all with a rather punchy edge. They have been one of the first to come out on the edge of Punk with a Heavy Metal kick ass rounder sound. From the initiation with ‘Abortion Sequence’ which piped the warfare horn for ‘Hungry Dogs’ towards progressions such as THE KINKS cover ‘You Really Got Me’ in a more speedy and punkish way, ‘Atomic Slut’ and ‘Murder On Melrose’ at the end made this release a total of eleven tracks which is capable to initiate any attack with full force. Time taste is everything and no matter what’s getting lost or forgotten will always resurface, as classics remain classic. Dissonance Records did a praiseworthy job by resurrecting these hidden gems and gave credit to the pioneers which they rightfully deserve. With technique, thoughts and ideals, “Mayhem, Fuckin ‘Mayhem” is an example of the uncompromising legacy of Speed / Thrash Metal which ignited blazes in the 80s and with such fantastic reissue efforts by the loyal souls, the flame of WARFARE will keep burring on like mayhem.
