PENTACLE / DEATHFUCKER
Spawn Of The Graveless Deity

Here we go. Charge! Two great bands marching together like a single combat machinery. One called PENTACLE. Another called DEATHFUCKER. Do these two beasts need grand introductions? I don’t think so. We attend here the presentation of this work via Iron Pegasus Records which, staying true to its history and philosophy, produces this new split by a house band and a great guest. What a delight it is to listen to PENTACLE. A band that has remained standing through the years and that is a fundamental part of the very foundations of all Underground Metal, coating it with an extreme fidelity and coherence, which only a few bands have achieved at this level. They will never yield to any of the trends, they will always prevail. The split is opened by PENTACLE precisely with the song called ‘Black Hell: The White City’, a song that takes us to the DNA of PENTACLE. To that highly characteristic style. To that coherence through the years. Because, no matter how many years pass, PENTACLE remains the same, or even better, like mature and appetizing wine that becomes appetizing with the years. And they continue expressing that maturity with the tracks ‘Blood To The Thirsty’, ‘Our Second Coming… In Wrath’, ‘Touched By The Nothingness’ and ‘Spawn Of The Desert Womb’. I mention them all because they are all structurally and one by one, the pieces of a huge monolith that is forged from the bottom of the earth. They are a whole. Track after track, the band that has always been the same, appears over and over again, like an old ghost that does not leave its house. Great PENTACLE! And the split is continued by the Italians DEATHFUCKER, who, also, are part of that school that keeps the banner of old school Death Metal high. They open their participation in the split with the track ‘Intro Atrox Deus’. A track that comes raising the volume little by little until it completely dominates the audio of the speakers. With a Death Metal very DEATHFUCKER, very old school. A Death Metal that they have also known how to maintain throughout the years and that (also) matures and becomes more and more exquisite. They continue with ‘Graveless Deity’, a faster and more aggressive track but full of a brutal technical richness that is surrounded by two guitars that come and go. Then ‘Empty Graves’, a very dynamic track that ejects that magma of ’80s Death Metal. And the split closes with ‘Deathforce Impiety’, again in that same line that DEATHFUCKER has always shown, putting this track on the crest of the wave of this release. Although it is the final track, it seems to take the band’s participation to the limit, leaving the listener with the feeling that the music continues. But no. The split ends with that song and it will have to be repeated from the beginning to enjoy it again from beginning to end. Great split. Great bands. Great label. All the ingredients on the table to cook this wild dish of two bands that came to Death to make it bigger than it was.
